Paraffin Oil what are your results?
Who is using it???
I just read on a lantern site that you should NOT on flat wick lanterns and you get reduced light and a bazillion other problems. Flat wick = Kerosene only to them. https://www.vermontlanterns.com/content/lamp-oil-faq I have about 5 gallons of Ultra pure that I intend to use in my dozen 5/8" wick RR lanterns. I did not go with Kerosene when I started to stock up because I rember the smell that permeated everything when we used to use it in our home Deer would not get within a mile of you when you smelled like a giant wick. The Parrifin imparts no oder I can detect. I am wondering about long term usage on flat wicks and who has done it. Thanks in advance. |

Have some stocked, haven't used it. Would be good to know before it's needed. Will investigate further. Thanks!!

Re: Paraffin Oil what are your results?
I do not like Kerosene, in oil lamps, but have used it in the past. I think it makes the place stink like the ramp of an International Airport.
I much prefer purpose made lamp oil, if more costly. Which is odourless. However, so long as it is warm enough, and you can ventilate, it works just as well, in lighting terms. Some on here have no issue with it. It is a lot better than nothing. If you live where you can keep the windows open it is fine. |
